Sandra Bradley

Director and Senior Solicitor

Sandra qualified as a solicitor in 1982 and for several years has specialised in the law relating to children. She joined Bretherton Law in 1986, becoming a partner in 1989 and sole owner and Principal in 2004. In July 2014 the status of the firm changed to a limited company.

As a long term member of the Law Society’s specialist Children Panel, she often represents children in complex court proceedings in all levels of the court system.

Most of her work involves cases where the Local Authority has concerns about child welfare and she frequently represents in court children who have been subjected to serious abuse or neglect. She also handles adoption and Special Guardianship applications. Sometimes her role will be to represent the child in complex cases where parents have been unable to agree on arrangements following separation. She also acts for parents and other relatives.

Her clients say that she listens to them, and helps to guide them through difficult times with sensitivity and compassion.

She is a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children, Resolution, NAGALRO and the Local Family Justice Board (and chair of their education subcommittee).

Sandra’s specialist areas include:

  • Care Proceedings and adoption
  • Representing children in resolving arrangements for children
  • Special Guardianship Applications
  • Grandparents’ Rights
